Suffocation is an extreme experience. It brings one so near to experiencing death, that one is suddenly stroke by the awareness of one’s body and its needs, its limits and its fragility. Very often one suffocates mentally.
With this work, a symbolic suffocation is represented. The suffocating element is water, which is at the same time the main component of our body. This video is a rhythmical composition of sounds and images, water and air both coming in and out of the body. Struggling to be the one to have access to it, both are essential to its composition.
